Business as usual for Fusion Marine customers in the Northern Isles

Fish farm equipment supplier Fusion Marine is reminding Shetland fish farmers that it is ‘business as usual’ for its customers despite the recent liquidation of Norcage, which was its subcontractor in the Northern Isles.

Stephen Divers, Fusion Marine managing director, is emphasising that despite Norcage closing its doors, Fusion Marine has made provision for its own engineers to be on site in the Northern Isles to continue cage building, installation and maintenance work.

This work is, however, only applicable to fish farmers using Fusion Marine equipment and not to any other aquaculture contract work previously carried out by Norcage, which was unconnected to Fusion Marine.

“We regret very much the news that Norcage has gone into liquidation and are sorry for the job losses involved, but I am keen to emphasise to Fusion Marine customers that it is very much business as usual for them as our own engineers will now service the industry in Shetland and Orkney,” said Mr Divers.

“This may be a short term measure and we are reviewing some other local solutions for longer term subcontract services for cage and repair work on fish farms in the Northern Isles.”
