Polycraft sales surge ahead
Sales of Fusion
Marine's Polycraft workboat are surging ahead for both the fish
farming industry and other marine sectors.
Marine Harvest,
for example, has taken delivery of two FFB personnel carriers for
its Stattic Point site at Little Loch Broom.
Site manager
John Mackay says: "The boat is working well - it punches through
the waves well and even after a five mile trek to the site, the
crew are still dry."
Marine Harvest
has also taken delivery of an FFB personnel carrier for an exposed
fish farm site at the entrance of Loch Ewe. According to Marine
Harvest's Strav McDonagh, the Polycraft is essential to the site's
success.
"The site
is one of these places that has its moments with regards to weather,
and we have been very impressed with the boat so far. It will play
a key role in the success of the farm."

The Polycraft
offers a number of advantages over traditional fish farm workboats,
most noticeably its handling, versatility, speed and durability.
Manufactured
entirely from polyethylene, a unique feature of the Polycraft is
its deep V-shaped hull which brings stability in rough weather conditions
without comprising on handling.
The vessel,
which can be powered by a variety of units, is produced in sizes
up to 22ft and adapted to meet specific customer requirements. It
can easily accommodate two one-tonne pallets of fish feed or carry
up to eleven people.
Scottish Seafarms
has ordered two of the FFB4 tender versions, and according to Fusion
Marine's Iain Forbes, other orders are flowing in thick and fast.
"There
has been an excellent level of interest in the Polycraft, which
has shown itself to be an extremely versatile and durable vessel,"
he says.
An FRC1 version
has been delivered to the NE Group for operations around Scatsta
airport in Shetland, who have leased it to SERCO, the management
company who run the airport.
Bill Long of
NE Group says: "I would like to congratulate Fusion for all
their efforts in delivering an outstanding FRC to the NE Group.
Our client at Scatsta airport was delighted with the boat."
Meanwhile, The
Severn Rescue Association (SARA) says it is impressed with the FRC4
it purchased.
"It is
the most practicable, durable and versatile boat that we have ever
used," states SARA Upton Station chairman, David Walker.
"It can
handle all sorts of situations and offers superb stability, even
in rough conditions. Our crews have tremendous faith in the FRC4."
